Help with wildlife

If you’re having issues with wildlife in your yard, go to wildlifehelp.org for help!

From their website:

WildlifeHelp.org is an online data-driven application developed by Northeast United States wildlife management agencies to help people find sound, legal and ethical advice for nuisance wildlife control and prevention.

The effort is led by the Northeast Wildlife Damage Management Research and Outreach Cooperative, which is part of the Northeast Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies.  DJ Case and Associates developed the online application.

As human populations continue to grow and move into what was once wildlife habitat, human/wildlife contact can become more common.  Some animals such as raccoons, skunks, and opossums may actually benefit from human alterations to the landscape and often exist at higher densities in suburban habitats than in forested areas.  Other species such as bobcat, otter, and fisher tend to be more wary of humans therefore development and habitat loss may alter their use of the landscape.  This website provides guidance, information, and techniques for property owners and the public if they experience conflicts with wildlife.
